Unfortunately, our trip was to come to an end today since Michi had Uni in the evening.
We had a last full English breakfast at Appleby’s Guesthouse and then got ready to head back to Chester. A last destination on our way was a little village called Portmeirion, which is built in an elegant Italian style.
After a short walk through that interesting but rather kitschy place and a refreshing beverage, we drove on and arrived in Chester at about 3pm. Just perfectly in time to go food shopping and to return the car before Michi’s lectures at Uni started.
Reading back through our notes and watching the pictures, we are very grateful for all the experiences and impressions we gathered throughout the journey. Wales is defnitely worth a visit (Dave told us that the travel guide Lonely Planet even named it fourth in a list of best regions to travel!).
There are some things we weren’t able to do due to unlucky weather conditions and time restriction. Hence, we’d love to come back and fill in the gaps.
